About the concert
An amazing feast of new and hitherto unpublished Australian choral works.A dazzling display of Australias most promising and renowned composers,including Dan Walker, Perry Joyce, Joseph Twist and Iain Grandage, the chosen works are a reflection on the beauty and diversity of Australian landscapes and experiences.

Highlight of the concert is the world premier of a specially commissioned composition by Matthew Orlovich for a Capella choir entitled My Nurse and I. The text of this vibrant piece is a poem by contemporary Australian poet Nicolette Stasko; a poem inspired by and based upon a 1937 painting by Mexican artist Frida Kahlo.

In the second half, Concordis joins forces with Pro Musica Orchestra to perform selections from Nicholas Buc's new Mass celebrating the life of Mary MacKillop, conducted by the composer himself.
