Andrew Hunter is one
is one of Melbournes most respected choral directors.
He began his musical studies at age 6 when he joined
the Australian Boys Choir, and has been singing in and
directing choirs ever since. He studied pianoforte
with Donald Thornton at the University of Melbourne
where he completed his degree with honours in piano
performance and education.
He taught for a number of years at the
Australian Boys Choral Institute through all levels of
tuition, directed the institute's Senior Singers and was
accompanist to the choir. As a singer, he has toured
nationally and internationally with several choral ensembles.
Andrew is currently Deputy Director of Music
at Scotch College Melbourne, a past Vice president of the
Australian National Choral Association (Vic) and is a sought
after adjudicator and clinician at eisteddfods, choral
workshops and masterclasses.
